This is the date of an agricultural ritual performed in Northern Europe from ancient times. Grains and cakes were offered for the soil?s fertility, and the Sky Father and Earth Mother were invoked to that end. Meditate upon your dependence on the soil, and crumble upon the earth a piece of bread as you call upon Odin, Frigga and the Land Spirits to heal the Earth and keep it from harm.
